8th Numismatic Convention and Special Auction of Caracas, Venezuela

Numisur Casa de Subastas is pleased in inviting to participate in VIII the Numismatic Convention of Caracas, to be celebrated the day Sunday June 14th 2009, in Hotel J.W. Marriott - Michelena Hall, from 11:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The Convention will count on the participation of national and international exhibitors, as well as of the speech "The Provincial Currencies of Guayana", by Dr. Luis R. Ponte at 4:00 p.m. The assistants will be able to acquire coins, currencies, tokens, medals, books and goods related to numismatic collecting.

During this event the lots of the Special Auction will be available for their exhibition, which will begin at 6:00 p.m., as final activity.

Information about the 2nd Collector's Convention of Maracaibo

On April 25th 2009, starting at 11AM, there will be held at the Hotel Kristoff, in Maracaibo, Venezuela, the 2nd Collector's Convention of Maracaibo. The general event program is:

11:00 AM - Collector's Convention and piece exhibition (Mapuey Saloon)
4:00 PM - Novel Auctions (Icoa Saloon)

During the beginner's auction, the Mapuey Saloon will be open.

5:30 PM - Agape
6:00 PM - Special Auction (Icoa Saloon)

Rare banknote of 2 Bolívares serie BV7

Recently, it was auctioned a 2 Bolívares banknote with date "Octubre 05, 1989" and serie BV7. This serie, although was planned for issuing at that time, there was not a proof of its existence. Thanks to Rodolfo Miani for his collaboration.

New book "Los billetes de emisión centralizada de Venezuela" by Sergio Sucre

The new book by Sergio Sucre "Los billetes de emisión centralizada de Venezuela" (Centralized banknote issues of Venezuela) is now for sale, as a complementary bibliography of his first book Banknotes from the Banco Central de Venezuela. The current price is BsF 650, with a limited edition of 1500 copies and could change in the future. This book can be purchased by writing to his email address sergiosucre@gmail.com.

Exposition from BCV scheduled for Feb 6th has been suspended

Throught a received note by Antonio Alessandrini of Subasta Globus, informs that the event that was scheduled for tomorrow February 6th at 10am by the official issuer (Banco Central de Venezuela), was suspended due to major causes. Instead, at the same place, there will be a guided tour to the exposition about Bolívar Fuerte.

Exposition from BCV about coin and banknote design and productions

On Feburary 6th, the official monetary issuer, the Central Bank of Venezuela (Banco Central de Venezuela) will have an activity that they have called as "social gathering" from three specialists from the Venezuelan Mint, and will have as subject the coin and banknotes design and production.

This activity will begin at 10 a.m. and will last about two hours. It will be held at Centro Cultural Salvador de la Plaza, a building that belongs to the Central Bank. The access is throught the Juan Pedro López square, from the corner Altagracia to Mijares.
