General: Multicolor design with green as predominant color.
Obverse: Design with portrait orientation. On the top, "REPÚBLICA BOLIVARIANA DE VENEZUELA" with below left in several lines: the denomination value "50", the denomination in words "CINCUENTA BOLÍVARES", the date, the payment clause "PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO" and the two signatures, and below center watermarks zone. On the bottom, portrait of Simón Rodríguez, that seems that it was painted by Juan Agustín Guerrero, with below, the denomination. The serial numbers are located in the top right and bottom left rotated 90 degrees clock-wise.
Reverse: Design with landscape orientation. In the center, over the field Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos ornatos) with Santo Cristo Lagoon as background. On the right, watermarks zone. On the top left, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA". On the left, Coat of Arms. On the bottom right, the denomination value "50" and the denomination in words "CINCUENTA BOLÍVARES".
Date of beginning of circulation: January 1^st, 2008.
