Obverse: Design on green, with frame-like border and a security background. On the right, inside an oval portrait of Simon Bolivar from unknown author. In each corner the value in words "20". In the center, the value "20" inside a rosette, below the payment clause "PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO". At left the denomination in words "VEINTE BOLIVARES". On the top, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA", with two serial numbers below.
Reverse: Design on green, with frame-like border. In the center, Monument to Carabobo by Antonio Rodríguez del Villar, site which Bolívar achieved the independence of Venezuela on June 24th 1821. On the right, inside a rosette, the value "20". On the left, inside an oval the Coat of Arms. In each corner the value "20". In the bottom the denomination in words "VEINTE BOLIVARES". On the top, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA".
