Obverse: Design on green, with frame-like border. On the right, inside an oval portrait of Simon Bolivar from unknown author. In each corner the value in words "20". In the center, the value "20" inside a rosette, below the payment clause "PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO". At left the denomination in words "VEINTE BOLIVARES" with a serial number below. On the top, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA", with a serial number below on the right.
Reverse: Design on green, with frame-like border. In the center, Monument to Carabobo by Antonio Rodríguez del Villar, site which Bolívar achieved the independence of Venezuela on June 24th 1821. On the right, inside a circle, the value "20", on the left, inside an oval the Coat of Arms. In each corner the value "20". In the bottom the denomination in words "VEINTE BOLIVARES". On the top, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA".
Common name: This design had as common name "Orejón" (big ears) and it was retired out of circulation early because the inhabitants rejected the exaggerated and ugly engraving of Simon Bolivar.
