Obverse: Design on blue-violet over a purple underprint. On the right, portrait of Simon Bolivar by the painter José Gil de Castro done in Lima, Perú, in the year 1825.. In the center, the value "1000" with the denomination in words "MIL BOLÍVARES" in two parts in above and below, both over the background with the monument to Simon Bolivar by Pietro Tenerani, located in the Panteón Nacional. On the bottom, heading of the old newspaper "Correo del Orinoco" with the payment clause "PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO" above. On the left, watermarks zone. On the top left, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA". In each corners, except the lower left, the value "1000". The serial numbers are located in the upper right (in black) and bottom left (in red).
Reverse: Design on blue-violet over a purple underprint. In the center, picture of the Avila Hill in Caracas with the Panteón Nacional at right and some orchids at left. On the top left, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA" with the Coat of Arms below at left. In the bottom right corner, the denomination in words "MIL BOLÍVARES". In the upper right and bottom left corners the value "1000". On the right, watermarks zone.
