Obverse: Design in red with red, green and yellow underprint. On the left, portrait of Simon Bolivar from unknown author painted in 1826, over a book shaped background that contains in micro-printing, a partial text of the Independence Act. On the right, watermarks zone. In each corners, except the top right, the value "1000". The serial numbers are located at upper right (in black) and lower left (in blue with ascendant height growing grom left to right). In the center, the value "1000", above, the denomination in words "Mil Bolivares". On the bottom, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA" con the payment clause "PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO" above.
Reverse: Design red and black over a light blue underprint. In the center,, painting "Firma del Acta de Independencia" (Signing of the Act of Independence on 5th July 1811) by Juan Lovera with the Coat of Arms at upper right. On the left, watermarks zone. On the bottom, the name of deputies that signed the Act of Independence. In the bottom corners, the value "1000". On the top, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA" with the denomination in words "Mil Bolivares" below.
Circulation note: This note was retired early because there was a typographical error by the absence of accented "i" in the word "Bolivares".
